Golfing In North Georgia: Play Better With 3 Simple Steps

3 Simple Steps To Improve Game When Golfing In North Georgia

Teegolfer enjoys golfing in North Georgia. As a retired pro golfer, she shares three simple steps to improve your game.  Listed below are just three steps from her free book, "20 Simple Steps To Improve Your Golf Game."

Your golf swing is a very complex set of movements and strains requiring much from your body. If you are serious about improving your game, you will have to consider how to increase your flexibility and strength.

Yes, regular exercise with aerobics is important. But you will also have to consider specific fitness training that focuses on the motions involved in your swing.

So you’ll want to target your training to those areas of your body that are weaker. What are your strengths and weakness in your game.  We like to focus on our strengths without paying much attention to our weaknesses.

Exercise and training that involve increasing our flexibility, power, and finesse (balance) are  essential, and become a major role in you playing better golf. (Click here http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/tipsandtricks/a/basictraining.htm for a great beginning to basic fitness from your home!)

Surprising Tip #2:  Health Tip For Your Aching Back

A common health problem related to this wonderful game of golf is often related to the back, specifically lower back pain. This can come from sporadic play, poor golf swing mechanics, or simple lack of conditioning.

What can you do?

Try these daily strategies.

Develop good lifting habits. Bend from the knees when you pick up heavy objects. Bend from the knees even when picking up your socks off the floor. Get into the habit of it!

Improve your fitness with regular strength exercises for the muscles specific to the back and other movements in the golf swing.

Keep at a regular aerobic exercise. Walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Look for ways to work your heart!

What does your favorite chair look like?  Does it have good lumbar support? Strange thought maybe, but going to get a better chair to watch your favorite sport might do wonders for that aching back!

Are you overweight?  Losing a few pounds could do wonders for your back and your golf game.

Finally, relax. Try breathing exercises or mental conditioning to get rid of the stress.

Surprising Tip #3:  Weight loss to play better golf.

I can relate to having an issue with weight. Growing up I tended to be on the chunky side and knew I had to do something so it would not hinder my game. I ran 3 to 5 miles every other day. I practically starved my body. Later, after reading the book “Fit Or Fat”, I settled into a more balanced diet of eating the right things and continuing my aerobic exercise.

What a joy when finally the pounds started to come off, and I became a lean mean golfing machine golfing in North Georgia!

So here are some basic rules for weight loss or simply to improve your performance or help you golf to a greater level of success:

* Eat 5 to 6 small meals with healthy options through out the day.

* Eat those nutritionally healthy foods every couple of hours to increase metabolism. Starving your body and then porking out just tricks your metabolism.

* Eat well-balanced meals containing carbohydrates, proteins, and good fats.

Surprising Tip #8 How To Prepare For Challenging Conditions On The Course

The only time conditions on the golf course are perfect-- sunny with no wind and perfect temperature-- is in our dreams.

How can you prepare yourself for challenging conditions golfing in North Georgia, from extreme heat to cold to wind, and still give yourself a chance to play good golf?

For one, cardiovascular exercise regularly helps you be prepared while building overall endurance, leg strength, and power.

Work on exercising in three different levels at moderate intensity to high intensity to recovery. Each level involves proper warm up and cooling off periods. The moderate and high intensity are based on the percentages of “pushing yourself” in a particular fitness activity. The recovery level involves 30 to 60 minutes of an easy to constant pace good for keeping your blood flowing and maintaining overall fitness.

Once again, get advice from your doctor and see a professional fitness trainer for best results.

4 Tips To Improve Game As You Play Golf In North Georgia

4 Tips To Help You Play Better As You Play Golf In North Georgia

Teegolfer unveils 4 simple tips to help you play better as your play golf in North Georgia.

Surprising Golf Tip #1: Why proper health and nutrition?

We start with the most basic question. Why is proper health and nutrition important to play better golf?

Golf is a game that requires a combination of mechanics, concentration, balance, strength and stamina. When it comes to playing a better game of golf we usually pay the price for a lesson, a golf program online, or simply long hours on the driving range trying to improve our game.

Often a golfer neglects the one thing he/she can control and that's basic health and nutrition.

Proper health is one of the most crucial parts to your game for helping or hurting your performance on the golf course. It can help you feel better, prevent injuries that cause pain, and can even help in your concentration on the golf course. Therefore, correct nutrition preparation such as the quality of food one eats and a balanced diet must be taken into consideration to achieve the best performance on the golf course so you can play better golf.

Understanding the importance of health and nutrition and implementing a solid plan is a great beginning point to playing better golf. In essence, what you eat can determine how you play.

Are you willing to pay the price to get your body in proper physical health and shape to give you the best chance to play better golf? If you are serious about lowering your score and improving your golf game, you will need to commit to seeing a proper diet and health advice in this book to see it through!

Surprising Tip #2: Why is fitness so important in golf?

Having a proper fitness can aid you in developing flexibility, strength, and power to drive the golf ball farther. It can be a key factor if you play every day or if you are involved in competitive golf.

The strength to hit the golf ball is just as important as the strength you need for endurance physically and mentally to finish 18 holes playing at your best.

Have you ever experienced a time when you were playing great for about 10 or 13 holes and then you hit a wall. Well, it feels like a wall because you start to miss shots, hit it in the water or out of bounds. You go from Mr. Smooth and Control to Mr. Crumble and Stumble!

What happened?

There is a good chance your body got tired so you made a simple mental mistake. Or your endurance was lacking and you lost control of your swing. This break down could be caused by not drinking enough water or forgetting to have a proper intake of protein.

Or, it simply could be the fact that your body is out of shape!  Too much time on the coach watching television and not keeping your vow to hit the fitness center is one cause of an out of shape body.

Don’t feel bad. It is not uncommon to be in this place.

But don’t stay in that condition! You made a decision you want to improve your game. You want to play better golf and beat your golfing buddies instead of always paying them the skin money.

One step at a time!

Being in your best shape will help you from hitting that wall on the course and giving you a chance to play all 18 holes at your peak ability. The best place to start is a routine that involves aerobic exercise as well as a specific training for the muscles involved in a golf swing. In addition, fitness training that involves proper stretches to increase your flexibility is a must.

As you follow this routine, when you get to that place of wanting to sit on the coach instead of work on your fitness, grab a hold of that mental picture of YOU playing great golf. See yourself walking the fairways with confidence as you beat up on your competition or regular foursome. Put some mental action behind your determined fortitude to stick with a basic fitness program to play the golf of your dreams consistently!

Surprising Tip # 3:  Basic Health Keys For Actual Day Of Playing Golf

Let’s take this one step at a time now.

So what are some basic keys to keep in mind during the actual day of your golf game.

Key #1:  This might seem obvious but is often overlooked by many golfers. You have to eat a real breakfast. I don't mean rush out the door on an empty stomach and pick up a donut to go with your coffee either. I mean a real sit down breakfast that is necessary to start your day out right, especially if you have 18 holes planned for the day. Even if you plan on taking a golf cart for the round, this is still an essential key!

You need protein and carbohydrates and the right kind of fats. This helps in your overall digestion and insures you are getting the proper nutrients. Try a couple of eggs and a bowl of oatmeal instead of a sugar high donut or sweets start. Or if you are in a rush, consider a hard boil egg with some form of food high in carbohydrates. Skip the sugar and don’t go over board with the caffeine.

Don’t skip this meal! You will need that slow and steady release of energy to see you through difficult or long hours of play.

Key #2: This involves correct warm up. Before you hit that first shot on the first tee, give your body a chance!  Stretch! Hit a few range balls to warm up. And stretch some more.  Don't over practice on the range. Just hit enough balls to get a sense of your tempo and to loosen up any tight muscles. This one key could help you the most as you walk up to that first tee box!

Key #3: Drink lots of liquid. Don’t forget to drink about 6 ounces of water or a sport drink while you are actually on the golf course. If drinking a beer is tempting you, imagine beating your friends and having them buy you that first brewskie at the 19th hole!

And finally Key #4:  Snack wisely.  Those pretty ladies driving the snack and beverage cart are not always known for having healthy choices. So don’t put yourself in a position to have to rely on them.

Bring bananas, nutrition bars, dried fruit, apples or a sports bar. When you see the pros chomping on a banana or apple, they are not necessarily doing that because they are hungry as much as making sure they can maintain energy through their high pressured grueling round.

You need to do the same. Even if you don’t feel hungry, grab that apple and chomp!

Surprising Tip #4:  Nutrition and Health Advice Overall

This tip fits right along with health keys for the day you actually play. There is no one perfect or specific food or diet plan that will fit every golfers’ needs. And please do get your doctor’s advice, especially if you have specific health problems.

The most basic beginning is to drink plenty of water every day. We cannot stress that enough.

Also make a daily choice to eat whole, unrefined, grain products over highly processed food options. This will mean a change in your thinking as much as your eating habits if you eat out a lot. You can do this! Just think before you eat. Avoid the high processed or sugar based foods.

Take a daily multi-vitamin/mineral. Your body needs all the supplements it can get, especially if you are not used to watching what you eat. This has become a big key for me as I study and learn more about amazing supplements and vitamin drinks full of antioxidants!

Finally, choose products and fruits high in antioxidants. Eat that apple instead of the candy bar! The importance of antioxidants will be discussed in detail later in this book.

Avoid This Mistake When Hiring Cumming House Painter!

Two Mistakes To Avoid In Hiring Cumming House Painter

This is a series of Cumming House Painting tips from "expert Dave" as he shares the common mistakes people make when hiring a home painter and how you can avoid them.

If you are on a schedule or have one that needs to be met, you need to find a house painter that will be sensitive to that schedule and committed to meet it.  A horrible mistake would be, for example, if you have your mother-in-law coming in town to visit, and you need the job done in a certain amount of days. And the house painter has no regard for your time-line and is still painting as your guest arrives. It’s best to hold off the paint job if your house painter cannot meet your schedule.

You should also be aware of the actual process involved in painting. You paint the ceilings first. Get a coat on your trim and then cut the wall paint into the underside of the trim. It’s a whole lot easier to cut a wall into a ceiling rather than a ceiling into the wall. If your hand is not steady enough, some people paint the walls, let it dry and then mask it off. Then they paint the trim so as to not get a penetration from one color into another. A good steady hand will reveal a skilled painter, as an artist even, who can cut in with paint in places that most people could not!

Mistake #4

One of the major mistakes is not discussing the specifics of workmanship, such as the scheduling of how things are actually performed.  You need to ask such questions as, “Where are you going to paint first in my house?” If you know the scheduling in advance in what will be painted first, you won’t allow a painter to make a horrific mistakes that can be costly adding up to “extra’s” on your bill. In addition, you would want to know the specific details of the actual painting such as, not being able to put eggshell paint over semi-gloss…. Knowing the details of painting can help you determine the proper painter, one who will work in a timely scheduled manner.

Roswell House Painter: Avoid These 7 Common Mistakes

The 7 Common Mistakes People Make When Hiring A Roswell House Painter And How You Can Avoid Them!

Expert Dave of DTC Market Place answers the questions of what are the 7 most common mistakes people make when hiring a Roswell house painter.

Mistake #1

The first mistake many people make when hiring a house painter is not getting a written quote from the painter up front. In that estimate, the painter needs to go into detail what services he will be performing. Such as, in the process of painting, someone may nick or bump the walls. You need to make sure you are going to get at least two free touch-ups. This should be part of the warranty, which also should be included in the estimate.

Mistake #2

The second mistake made by a homeowner is failing to specify the quality of material the house painter will be using. Always make a point to determine the quality of paint you would like to use before looking for a painter. Different paints have different pigments. Some manufacturers of paint use a lesser quality of pigments-materials-in their paint. For example, they use less pigment and more filler. A good pigment in a paint and a good paint coat will allow you to wash off hand prints, finger prints, crayon or pencil marks, etc. A lower quality of paint would not allow you to do this. If you wiped the wall with the lesser quality, the paint would come off!

Mistake #3

Mistake #5

The fifth mistake many people make when hiring a house painter is not discussing how things will be moved, relocated, and covered. When a painter comes in your house you want to make sure the painter lays down a plastic cover before he lays a drop cloth down. The drop cloth will not absorb the paint. If you have carpet and areas you don’t want stained, if there was a spill or a large drop from a roller, you would want to be sure there is plastic underneath. The drop cloth will not absorb all the paint.

Mistake #6

One major mistake to avoid is the discussion of “glitches’ or irregularities that may occur as they paint your home. For example, you hung a picture up and behind it were extra holes in the wall. So after everything is taking down the walls and ceilings discuss with the painter what needs to be repaired on the walls or ceilings in a timely matter before he begins painting. In addition, you’ll want to know if drywall needs to be repaired. You would also want to know if they will be using sponges on your walls. And if they are going to use a sander, you want to know if they will use a vacuum with it so that’s there’s no dust particles flying through your house. Every day make sure your painter will clean up afterwards. If they are painting in a finished house, confirm with the painter that they will put everything back in its proper place so you can continue living in  your house without moving furniture yourself all the time.

Mistake #7

The final mistake many make is NOT discussing throwing away items used in the actual cleaning procedure. It is illegal to throw paint or paint materials in sewers or landfills. They have to be disposed responsibly just like your vehicle’s oil. When hiring a house painter you want to be sure he will be responsible. You want to ensure a green environment for our children’s children. So make sure you hire a “green” painter who understands the importance of handling the clean up process.
