I often get asked what are the steps one needs to take to effectively promote their ministry, music, or business online, or ways to gain financial freedom working a legitimate business online.
The basis for my answers lies in the acronym S-P-E-A-K.
Below is a video explaining more:

What Is The #1 Key For Business Or Ministry Marketing Success Online
You may wonder what is the #1 key for business or ministry marketing success online.
I truly believe the main ingredient, the rock to the foundation of marketing your gift, your business, music, or ministry, involves personal development.
Communication skills, how you deal with people, serving others faithfully, being faithful to God where you are now, and willing to study and improve skills, are definite components of personal development and business or ministry marketing success online.
I also am a firm believer that maintaining an intimate relationship with God is a pivotal key to attain your dream or your destiny. It may be financial freedom or a large ministry, having that relationship based on the Word of God is a must.
You may be familiar with this verse:
"But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33
The more I study marketing and follow great leaders in this industry, the more I hear that investing in yourself is so very important to your success.
What does this mean, really?
It involves learning to communicate, learning to ask the right questions, willing to serve others, and an ability to work with others bringing out the best in each person. I love this quote from Zig Ziglar:
“Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be.”
I believe a key for business or ministry marketing success online is the ability to learn to serve in the humble circumstances of where you are now, at this moment!
You have to be faithful to "sow into your gifting" now, as Success and Spiritual Coach Dani Johnson teaches in her Spirit Driven Success Series. You invest in yourself, step up, and give it your best shot acting like the business or ministry you have now is the one of your dreams!
That means no whining, no blaming, no complaining and no excuses. You put away envy and give it your best shot, as if the big business or ministry is already there!
You grow where you are planted!
For example, if you can interact with people where you are now, and learn to understand their needs, interests, strengths, and goals, you will be far more successful in introducing them to what you have to offer with your ministry or business, than being an pushy spammy sales fish splashing water in their face.
If you can work on understanding people and focusing on helping them first, you will go far in life.
No miracle marketing wonders will help attain the best until you invest the time to gain skills in dealing with other people, yourself, and those close to you.
To gain these personal development skills is as simple as turning off the television and opening your mind to incredible resources from books, to CD's, DVD's, Webinars, Conference calls, and even special seminars.
Three Simple Steps To Personal Development
Here are three simple steps for you to begin as you learn how to enhance your skills with powerful resources on personal development available today for your own business or ministry marketing success online:

Read!
The resources in the form of books to read are unlimited. Of course, there's no greater book on wisdom, strategy, business or ministry than the Bible.
Here are some others that are well worth recommending:
"How To Win Friends And Influence People" by Dale Carengie
"The Everyday Visionary" by Jesse Duplantis
"My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers
"Spirit Driven Success" by Dani Johnson

That list could go on. For more ideas, check the Market Research page here.
Bottom line, time spent reading is time spent investing in your business or ministry marketing success online!
Learn from the best!
Your level of income often reflects your level of personal development.
Learn from those who are already successful in the areas you want to excel. If it's Christian music, check out some of the legends who've been at this industry for years and keep moving forward!
Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman,Casting Crowns, Third Day are just a few who come to mind who have been successful over a long period of time. They have tremendous skills, and not just musical talent, but also excellent relational skills.
Maybe you'd like to have a ministry like Joel Osteen, or Kenneth Copeland or Jesse Duplantis.
Watch, study, and listen. The men listed above have learned to operate their personal and ministry lives by the principles of God. They give and give….and sow and sow….And yes they reap and reap too. They serve, preach, and minister with a spirit of excellence in everything!
Any top businessman or minister, who has had business or ministry marketing success online, has spent the time and even money, by investing in their personal life, from their relationship with God to their relationships with others.

Invest to gain skills
One of the best investments you could make, not only for your business career, but also personally, would be to see Success Coach and trainer Dani Johnson. I can think of no greater coach when it comes to personal development.
I personally have attended two of her "First Steps To Success" Seminars that have had a tremendous impact on my personal development and helped improve my business.
I believe she is anointed and God has raised her up for such a time as this. The foundation of her teachings and principles are based on the Word of God.
In addition, you won't hear anything from Dani that she hasn't personally used or done herself. Her track record of wealth is well documented. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands she and her husband give yearly to powerful Christian ministries.
Dani walks the talk!
Her clients include not only successful business people, but also producers, actors, artists, Christian musicians...and even a Rocket Scientist!
She has paved the way with her spirit of excellence in leading others to business or ministry marketing success online and in home based businesses.
Obviously, the list of what you can do to improve your personal development could continue.
The bottom line is this question: "What are you going to do today to be a better reflection of Christ down the road in your business or ministry?"
Finding the answer is finding the #1 key for business or ministry marketing success online!
“The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty.” Zig Ziglar

Personal Development: The Foundation of Your Success in Music
Personal development is the rock to the foundation of marketing your gift in music. Communication skills, how you deal with people, willing to study and improve skills are a big part of personal development. The Contemporary Christian Music industry refers to this issue as "Artist Development".
No miracle marketing wonders will help you until you invest the time to gain skills in dealing with other people.
For example, if you can interact with people and learn to understand their needs, interests, strengths, and goals, you will be far more successful in introducing them to what you have to offer with your music than someone who just tries to "sell themselves."
If you can work on understanding people and focusing on helping them first, you will go far in life whether it's with your music or some other career.
To gain these personal development skills is as simple as turning off the television and opening your mind to incredible resources from books, to CD's, DVD's, Webinars, Conference calls, and even special seminars.
Your level of income often reflects your level of personal development.
Learn from those who are already successful in the areas you want to excel. If it's a Christian musician, check out some of the legends who've been at this industry for years and keep moving forward!
Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, are just a few who come to mind who have been successful over a long period of time. They had tremendous skills. Not just musical talent, but also incredible relational skills.
When it comes to amazing talent coupled with being an entrepreneur, Bill Gaither is the "grand daddy" of them all.
Gaither founded the Gaither Music Company which performs the functions of record company, concert booking, television production, copyright management, retail store, recording studio and telemarketing for the Gaither empire. Gaither also runs a retail center called Gaither Family Resources.
Gaither, and his wife Gloria, have given back to the Contemporary Christian music industry in many ways. For one, they helped to prolong the careers of those who came before them. Mark Lowry, Sandi Patty, Carman, Steve Green, Amy Grant, are some of a long list of artists who either got their start or became popular while touring with the Gaithers.
√ Invest to gain skills
One of the best investments you could make, not only for your music career, but also personally would be to see Success Coach and trainer Dani Johnson. I can think of no greater coach when it comes to personal development.
I personally have attended two of her "First Steps To Success" Seminars that have had a tremendous impact on my personal development and helped improve my business.
I believe she is anointed and God has raised her up for such a time as this. The foundation of her teachings and principles are biblically based. In addition, you won't hear anything from Dani that she hasn't personally used or done herself. Her track record of wealth is well documented. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands she and her husband give yearly to powerful Christian ministries. Dani walks the talk!
Finally, you have to be yourself. This is so crucial. I can remember being a young 16-year-old when my mom dragged me to an Amy Grant concert. What captivated me and made me really listen to her music was how down to earth she was and honest.
I remember that concert evening when she had decided to play this song she had just written. She dug in on the piano and was singing her heart out with her hands all over the keyboard. Suddenly, in the middle of the most dramatic part of the tune, she froze. She couldn't remember the words or the music! She looked out into the gasping audience, gave that endearing smile, and went on with the song picking up where she left off.
That's Amy. She is the same whether she is in her kitchen cooking a meal or on stage singing to thousands.
This idea of being who you really are reminds me of something said on American Idol from one of the "stars" helping the aspiring contestants.
Kenny Rogers was explaining the key to being successful now, and for years to come, as his illustrious career has proven. He said there are three things to consider:
1)Who and what other people say and think you are.
2)Who you think and say you are.
3)Who you really ARE, regardless of what you or others think.
The closer you get those three together, the greater chance you have of being successful for a long time, he said.

My Testimony: You Can Make Real Money On The Internet
Have you ever wondered if you really could make real money on the internet.
I know I've asked that question often. After going from guru to guru I found an answer in Stephen Pierce, the World's #1 Internet Wealth Advocate.
My journey in this marketing adventure started out with a work from home business three years ago. I put my heart and soul into it for a full year. That meant cold calling, having a business made website, late night conference calls, and lots of motivational talks from my leaders. I did sign people up...Lots of them. The thrill of closing was awesome. But the agony of seeing them not do anything was devastating. Then, they would quit!
I will not knock the great leaders who helped me or the company. They were awesome people.
But I was using old fashioned methods of business and marketing.
After that first year, I tried another company.
Burn out! No, better said, I just crashed and burned….period.
I was heart broken. I so wanted to help my husband and my family financially.
Here is a video sharing more of my testimony about the search to make real money on the internet:
My Story: From Devastation To Destiny
Before entering into this marketing adventure, I had spent over 15 years as an announcer at a Christian FM Radio station just outside of Atlanta. I loved helping people. I loved being a source of encouragement and spiritual light!
Needless to say, I missed making money and missed ministry.
So in my honest search of wondering if I could make real money on the internet, I started to read and study other methods of marketing. My eyes became opened to other means of business and marketing techniques online.
Soon I was deep studying SEO, reading books by Ann Sieg, and Mike Filsame's Butterfly Manuscript, etc etc.
I spent a fair dime and lots of my time learning by myself the basics of what it does take to make real money on the internet.
I thoroughly enjoyed my venture. Highlights of my study include learning video marketing through Traffic Geyser, studying SEO with John Reese's traffic secrets, watching endless amazing free videos from Jeff Johnson, and teaching myself how to ftp (upload) my own wordpress.org blog.
I did come to another place of exhaustion. I was still enjoying the learning, and I was still hustling my tail off in my work.
But I was not seeing the kind of results I'd like to see with the amount of time I was putting into it.
Well, during a time of serious transition with my family, I found a few webinars (not sure how I got them) from a name I was familiar with: Stephen Pierce.
Basically, I watched those two webinars about blogging and would stay up until 2 and 3 in the morning totally thrilled by what I was watching.
And then I applied just a few of his precise marketing strategies.
The results got me so excited.
For one, I immediately saw an increase in traffic at my main site by over 50%!
Now, months later and for the first time, I am learning every week precise strategies that are working and helping me make real money on the internet. It's a trickle. I see a gushing soon as I work a precise system.
In addition, I have real internet tools and methods to share with my ministry marketing clients, and those who e-mail me constantly asking advice on how to have provision for the vision.
I come across Christians, some in ministry, some not, who want to learn to make real money on the internet, to promote their ministries, music, and basically, to be free financially to serve God.
Now I can use what I'm learning to help teach them, and I can also direct them to Stephen's affordable classes.
The video above explains more.
But I can honestly look you in the eye and tell you…"Yes, you can make real money on the internet. I am doing and so can you!"

Ministry Marketing Plan Online: Mental Mapping to Success
You may be at a crossroads wondering which direction do you take to begin your ministry marketing plan online. Where do you begin. What plan do you choose. Who do you choose to learn basic internet marketing steps? Is it possible for mental mapping to success?
Do you have a road map? Do you have a clear vision in your mind that matches the dream behind the God given destiny?
I love the verse... Book of Proverbs chapter 23 verse 7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
I remember growing up seeing that verse on my dad's desk in the den. On one side he had his name, and the other that verse. I didn't quite understand it then. But now I fully understand the power of the mind!
Here is an amazing fact: Your brain is capable of change and makes 5000 new cells per day. This is called neuroplasticity.
So if you ever find yourself afraid to learn something new and are tempted to say, "I'm too old," you can banish this thought.
Science proves that you can learn and change all throughout your life.
Which all leads me to the term "mental mapping".
Understanding the importance of having a "mental map", as Jesse Duplantis explains in new book, "Evey Day Visionary", is a key beginning point.
You may be convinced of this God given destiny, but you still have to make choices to go in the direction of it. You need purpose and direction. Your thoughts and dreams must have an intent that gets the "ball rolling" to move! To begin a ministry market plan may be as simple as seeing yourself take advantage of social media, video marketing, and blogs to see your ministry/band/ or organization all over the internet.
No doubt action to what you are mental mapping is key!
The focus coupled with the action produces the road map...the mental map, to your final destination to begin that marketplan ministry.
I highly recommend you get this book by Jesse Duplantis as you begin.
In his book, Duplantis gives an example of the beginning stages of how he got his dream of preaching to the World on TV started. His beginning actions included sharing the idea with key people and being faithful in his local area preaching the Word around southern Louisiana. As he preached and shared, people would come up to him and comment on how they were encouraged and could see him on television someday.
With the verbal support came financial support which propelled him to the next step: Hiring the local cable network to video tape him as he shared and preached looking into the television camera. He scheduled a week and had 25 programs recorded.
Duplantis then hired a production company to produce and edit the introductions and closing to his program which had key information containing his ministry's address and phone number. He then purchased air time, once again locally, and his video began to be aired on the local Cox television station in Louisiana.
Soon people were writing in with prayer requests, support and asking for more material.
The rest is history. Jesse Duplantis is now seen Worldwide on a number of networks. He not only has his ministry program on Christian Networks such as The Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN), Daystar, but also on the major networks of ABC, NBC, CBS,and Fox Television!
Jesse also got a vision of having his own airplane for his ministry one day. At the time, he was driving a vehicle that coughed and sputtered when it went down the road.
Jesse did not focus on his broke, busted, and disgusted means of transportation but on the Word God spoke to him personally. He learned not to share that "pearl" with just anyone also. Year after year Jesse remained faithful to the call of God in his life.
He sowed and sowed...and reaped and reaped...and sowed again. Hundreds became thousands and thousands, hundred of thousands, and...
Just a year ago, Jesse did not just have a plane but an intercontinental jet in his arsenal to reach the world for Jesus.
So write the vision out, make it clear, and put some action to the dream!!
Habakkuk 2:2-3
"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets,That he may run who reads it,For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and not lie.Though it tarries, wait for it;Because it will surely come,It will not tarry."
Four Steps To A Ministry Marketing Plan For Christian Promotion Or Ways To Earn Extra Money Online
Do you have a ministry marketing plan or strategic course of action for your ministry promotion or Christian home business online?
I have found having a basic plan of action can be crucial in experiencing success whether working for my clients or simply looking to earn extra money online for provision for my vision.
Here is a video explaining my ministry marketing plan, based on the acronym P - L - A - N.
The Ministry Marketing Plan Of Action:
P stands for
Predetermine your goals.
Be specific with what you want to accomplish. Write it down and look at it often. You know the saying, "out of sight out of mind." These goals need to be burned into your heart and mind. Break your goals down into a 90 or 120 day period. Make them real, where you can accomplish them.
I recently had a 90 day goal and would put hash marks in the back of my Bible. I recorded significant events that happened along those 90 days. I didn't quite make all of my goals, but accomplished enough to help me see even more clearly the Hand of God in my life. He knows my dreams and visions. He gives me the desires of my heart!!!!!
"L" stands for
Lay out a strategic course of ACTION!.
For example, if you are looking to have a ministry marketing plan online to promote your Christian music or your ministry, you'll want to identify your target audience. What kind of lead generation system will you use? Will you have people opt-in for something for free, or subscribe to your newsletter, your e-zine?
Part of laying out a course of action means work! You want to be able to learn and work out what you are learning in the process.
For example, I was learning from my coach, Stephen Pierce, specific steps to gain more views on my YouTube videos. I watched the webinar, took notes, and was even given the specific instructions explaining each step. Then it was up to me to take action, shoot the videos, and work out each of those steps of action.
Stephen Pierce At Ultra Internet Boot Camp
It was quite amazing to see results. I even won the grand prize in his video contest with the MRMI Super Cash team! He gave us all the exact steps he uses to gain massive views on his videos and high organic rankings in Google with those wonderful thumbnails showing the video. So, each person on this team who followed these steps, gained the most views, and had well produced videos, would be the grand prize winner! I won an awesome free camera! I also accomplished one of my goals in that 90 day period!
Anyway, laying out a strategic course of action that will produce results is key. (If you want to learn that YouTube strategy, click here to learn how you can!
"A" stands for
Adjust your priorities!
No matter if you are looking for a ministry marketing plan that produces results or simply wanting to find ways to earn extra money online, you should make personal development a priority. It might mean getting up earlier to spend more time in the Word. It also might mean investing in your finances to go to a training seminar or attend a conference.
If you have to watch less television to learn a new skill, do it! Make it a top priority to take care of your mind and your body! Go on a fast from negative words. Make it a habit to develop positive images of where you see yourself going in your ministry marketing plan or business venture earning the finances to be free to serve God!
If you want it bad enough, adjusting your priorities will not be an inconvenience for long.
Finally, the "N" stands for
No excuses!
No matter the circumstances, the lack in your bank account, the storm in your relationships, make no excuses to not work. ("You can't make excuses and make money at the same time." -Stephen Pierce)
You can't have a successful ministry marketing plan online or have a chance to earn extra money online while making excuses, such as you don't have the time, or tech ability, the finances, or.....
To not make excuses will mean a shift in your thinking for sure. It may mean battling your fears of what other people will say if you step out in faith with trying to do something on the internet.
Please don't let someone's negative words, or someone clipping your your wings with sarcasm, keep you down. You are an eagle, not a chicken. Leave the chickens on the ground, look up, and fly, fly baby fly!
As you continue to flap those wings (work) and fly with a plan of action, you will be soaring before you know it!
So dig deep. Write out your plan. Act on the goals. Find the precise methods to make your goals a reality. Adjust your priorities to make the time to work the plan with no excuses.
You can do this.
Your dream can be a reality. Provision for your vision can happen.
Ready to write out your plan?
"Then the LORD answered me and said:
"Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry."

4 Strategies For Your Ministry Marketing Plan To Build Momentum Online
Are you one of those people that believe that you just don't have the time to get your ministry marketing up and running so you promote your ministry, t make money online and gain provision for your vision? You are not alone. Many people who email me or I talk to claim they have too much to do and not enough time to do it. They wind up defeating themselves and their business looses momentum and suffers.
Full time jobs, family obligations, maintaining health, and too many other distractions are the main reasons for not building momentum for their ministry marketing. You can wind up feeling that your life is spent catering to every one else's obligations.
If you are a work at home mom, you can add laundry, cooking meals, taxing the kids around town to that list!
However, I have some good news! You can find and maximize time to build momentum for your marketing, whether that is for your ministry or business!. All you need is to find time and commit to use that time for your ministry marketing only. Try the following strategies to make your ministry marketing plan flourish.
Document Your Daily Routine
The first thing you will need to do find a quiet place and write down your schedule. Document the start and end time on events like getting ready for work, driving your kids to school, your commute to your day job, gym time and any other weekly commitments you have. Don't forget to include weekends and family time, or fellowship at your church. (this is most important).
After completing this exercise you should have a good visual of what your work week looks like for your internet home based business. You should see openings in your week. Make your goal easy: try to find two hours you can commit to spend on your business. You should be able to re-prioritize some time.
Stay with the Schedule You Created and Re-Evaluate
The next thing you need to do is stick with your schedule. This can be tough because you are creating a new habit. I have read that a new habit takes 21 days to become just that, a habit. Once you get the hang of your new routine, you should always re-evaluate your schedule. You may be able to find more time to spend on your internet home based business.
For example, you may have a day time show you really like. All I can say is…"Will watching Oprah help me make money for my family?" This might be harder than you think, but…
You can always record a show and just prioritize the time to watch later…maybe with your husband!
Sticking with your schedule means you need to discipline yourself to work this internet home based business. This means that you have to find a way after work, after little league games, after dinner and after putting the kids to bed.
Don't Forget Your Family!
I'm preaching to myself on this one! I can be so passionate about something, or get so into creating a video, or creating a blog for a client, that I lose my priorities.
So, spending time with my family is always a top priority for me. I have two young children who have seen me on the computer enough. I try teaching them what I'm learning. For example, I showed my 7 year old how we could create an auto blog about a passion of his: reading. We together put up the blog
and we are enjoying watching it grow! This gives me a chance to show him ways to make money online and explain some of the methods I'm using. What a lesson! He calls me his "techy mom".
If you have to use your family time to spend on your business, make sure you communicate with your family so they have an expectation of what you are doing. However, I would recommend that you set a time limit so you can spend that time you want with your family. This will provide balance for you.
Embrace Distractions
As we all know life also throws us off schedule. Try your best to embrace that fact instead of fighting it. If your child stays up late, focus on helping your child quiet down and go to sleep. Try not to focus on what you could be doing. Don't worry. Don't stress. The work will still be there when you are ready.
If you have to stay late at your day job, then choose to work late. Usually, you'll find that it is better just to focus on one thing at a time. You will be more efficient and effective. Having a clear and guilt free mind while working on your business is most productive.
To handle new ideas that can distract you while you are working, keep an MP3 Recorder handy so if an idea comes up you can record it or write down the idea in a notebook. You can always prioritize those thoughts at a later time. You will also find that you are using less energy dealing with distractions instead of fighting them.

Finally, find ways to continue to grow in your self development. That is so important. Read books. Find authors and speakers that connect with your heart. Some of my favorite teachers and mentors include Dani Johnson, Stephen Pierce, Doug Firebaugh andJentezen Franklin. I also use my time in my car to listen to mp3's of training. Many phones today, such as the I-phone, are a internet home based business marketers dream tools. We can listen to mp3's, watch training videos, and really use it as a tool to learn and grow!
As you continue with your own personal development, the passion is stirred or rekindled to keep your vision alive amidst the daily tasks. Nothing like passion to keep momentum going!
Better yet, if you have the time and finances, invest in yourself and attend a seminar. I recommend Dani Johnson's First Steps to Success! I've attended two of them and always came back refreshed and ready to take on the challenges. And I learned so much about myself and what it takes to succeed at her seminars!
So there is good news when it comes to finding time to work on your own ministry marketing plan
Don't despair and don't get frustrated. Just remember that you have total control of your time and you alone can change your habits to build your businesses momentum.
You hold the keys. The doors are ready to be opened for your future. Go forward. Don't look back. And don't be afraid to dream big!
Ministry Marketing Video Series: Who Is Your Target Market?
Who Is Your Target Market. The Ministry Marketing Video Series continues with this key question of knowing who is your target market.
If you want to present your information, products, or ministry online to people, you have to narrow it down to WHO you really want to reach.
This is a cornerstone to your ministry marketing plan using the power of the internet to promote your Christian music, or ministry online, as well as targeting the audience for which you desire to minister.
How Do You Find Your Target Market?
The best thing to do is to take out a piece of paper and ask yourself some questions. Such as, are they male, female? What religion are they? Where do they live? What's the age bracket your are trying to reach? How much money do they make?
You can discover your target market by exploring these factors:
What Do They Want?
What do you have in a service, ministry, or product that will impact someone's life, change their life for the better.
You get the idea. Find out what specific problem people in your focus group have and find the best solution for it. It's important to note that sometimes your target audience may not be looking for a problem solver but a "luxury item".
What Do Your Target Clients Currently Purchase?
Find the things your target market buys frequently that is specific to your market, or your service, ministry etc.
What Can You Exclude From Your Market
Do they only speak Spanish? Only live in the United States? The more you can figure out the targeted persons that can be excluded the easier you will be to market to your targeted group.
Where Do They Go Online?
Your target market is probably online already. Where do they spend their time specific to your ministry or product? You need to go where they are already to find ways to attract them to your site.
You can find them where they read or participate in:

Who are the major players in your particular ministry or market? What do they offer and how? What specific products or services to they sell easily? Who has top rankings? Who pays for adwords? Who and what sites link to?
These are important questions to answer. If you can answer them with the most specific details and know how your competition is successful in your market, then you can do the same or improve on what they are doing.
What is the number one mistake ministry marketing mistake people make in their marketing plan online?
Real easy answer. They try to sell!
They operate out of fear ( "I have to pay that bill…I need to make money for my ministry") and that results in trying to push their services and products on people.
It happens not just ministry marketing mistake, but also business marketing mistake on the internet.

What do you see?

But you don't have to make that mistake.

Learn a lesson from my mentor to avoid this ministry marketing mistake.
As you might know, friend,Stephen Pierce started out in the futures and commodities niche ten years ago.
He gave away free daily trades five days a week for a year.He shared more details than most paid advisory services.
He didn't make any money that first year. He focused on providing value, even though he was homeless for part of this time and was in desperate need of money.
He knew he was onto something when he took a vacation and phones started ringing. People were upset because they were dependent on his free daily trades.
Most marketers don't start out the way Stephen did. And he has amplified to me this error. I see it everywhere. I cringe if I see someone make this ministry marketing mistake on Facebook or Twitter.
The #1 mistake most marketers make when starting out is to sell something right away.
They create a website and begin selling their own product or an affiliate product, or ministry book, etc They go on twitter other other social media sites and push and push the product.
This seems like such a logical thing to do but it misses a very important step.... creating value.
5 Steps To Create Value
So here are 5 steps you can take to create value so you can create wealth....a clear path to avoid a ministry marketing mistake in your market plan:
1.) Instead of asking yourself "what should I sell?" ask yourself, "Am I truly providing value?"
One way to determine if you're providing value is to ask yourself if what you have would be missed if it was made unavailable for a time.
2.) Share your value through social influence. Condition your market in such a way that people will automatically click when you put something out. Focus on contributing to your market. Focus on serving.
3.) Showcase your ability by building social capital. Social capital can only be earned by sharing and by showing. You can't buy it. Share and show....don't sell and spam.
4.) Find the GAP in your market. GAP = Goals, Activities,Priorities. When you know the GAP, things like writing copy, producing a ministry video, writing a book, creating a marketing plan..... and delivering value become easy.
5.) Value increases something people in your market want more of or decreases something they want less of. Sometimes these are simultaneous.
Take a sheet of paper. On the right side write the word "increase." On the left side write the word "decrease." Look at how your product or service or ministry increases what your market wants and decreases what they don't want.
When you create value in this way you won't be able to stop the resources from coming in. When you serve with integrity and in a spirit of excellence, more opportunities will come your way!
One rule for successful riding is you keep your head up at all times. You do not look to the right or left, or at the bumps and holes in the the road, just look straight ahead.
Why?
You go where you look. So I was taught to "look through my turns", look where I want to to, and don't look at the curb or ditch!
As I was praying this morning, I felt like that is going to be a key for you to win in 2010. Whatever win means to you....getting out of debt, seeing a relationship restored, having provision for your destiny, seeing your book published or your band signed to a major contract......
The key for you, will be to keep your head up and your eyes fixed on God.
Hebrews 12:1-2: "....looking away (from all that will distract) to Jesus, who is the leader and the source of our faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also the finisher (bringing it to maturity and perfection)...(vs 2 AMPLIFIED)
Another key has to do with sowing, investing. Aside from the obvious blessing and principle of sowing financially (and with your time) into the Kingdom of God (tithes and offerings), I also believe this pertains to investing your talents God has given you to obtain more for the building of His Kingdom.
The parable of the talents comes to mind (Math. 25:14-29).
I truly am convinced that how we handle our talents and gifts can determine our harvest.
God is looking for faithfulness with the little to see if He can bless us with the much.
For example...if you are a Christian singer, do you sing your heart out for the few...the 20 people at a local concert, like you would for the 20,000, at a large auditorium.
Are we thankful for the "few" God has given for us to minister to, to preach to, to write for.....to teach....
Are we thankful for the few before the much?
One other area to consider in all this is how we invest in our time.
Are we investing in learning a new skill, or refining one we already have. Are we taking the time and finances for personal development, for learning more about God's principles....?
Finally, I am reminded of a phrase that the late Oral Roberts was known for saying! ( I grew up watching him with my parents back in the 70's and 80's...on TV)
Dr. Roberts was know to say "A miracle is either coming your way or going past you all the time. Reach out and take it! Do not let it pass by."
So, my friend, I challenge you to look to Jesus, not our economy. Fix your eyes on Him....Invest, be thankful and go forward, never looking back.
God's provision for your vision may be coming to you in a market idea, an opportunity online, an invitation to speak or sing, or through a previously unknown association.
Watch for ways God may choose to bring a win win situation to you in 2010, in due time.
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Galations 6:9
"Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty Hand of God that He may exalt you in due time." 1 Peter 5:6
Three Ministry Marketing Steps For Online Promotion And Christian Home Business
These three ministry marketing steps can be a great starting point whether you are looking to promote your ministry online or trying to earn extra money with your Christian home business.
I recently attended a seminar with internet marketing great Stephen Pierce, and special guest, Power Team International founder, Bill Walsh. I received amazing wisdom from these men who are at the top of their fields in internet marketing and network marketing businesses.
I took lots of notes and found these three business keys you can use in your ministry marketing steps or Christian home based business plan.
You can look at them as ministry marketing steps or Christian home business blocks.
If you are ready to make a difference in your marketing plan online, whether it's for Christian promotion of your ministry or simply to find ways to earn extra money online, I believe these three points will prove beneficial to you!
A-C-T Three Ministry Marketing Steps
The three steps spell ACT:
A: A stands for assess. This means assess where you are now in your ministry marketing or work from home business. Are you in the beginning and wondering where to go? Or are you in the middle with frustration and aggravation because you see no results, no traffic, no resources gained?
Just acknowledge where you are and go on from there. Don't condemn or judge, just use this as your starting point.
C Choose to act. Choose to begin to make good choices on what to feed your mind. Choose positive images and words. Make a choice that you are going to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and you are going to walk out that faith with work!
Choose wisely with the coaches and mentors who can play a role in your ministry or business plan. Commit to not just learning but applying what you learn.
Commit and recommit every day to maintaining your relationship with God. Yes, it is a pivotal role in your ministry and business! God can download information, wisdom and strategy in your time with Him in the Word, like no other person.
Choose personal development as a priority. That might mean attending a seminar, from Dani Johnson to Kenneth Copeland to Stephen Pierce. God will reveal the mentors and teachers to you. You simply have to choose to trust Him for the provision, direction and simply GO...choose to ACT...WORK!
T Thankful: Be thankful. Find joy in your journey today. Don't let your longing for something in the future slay your appetite for living today! Don't allow your present circumstances determine your future.
God will prepare you for your destiny. Don't freak out during the preparation. The process is the preparation for your destiny!
Think about it. Would a father give his 11 year old son keys to his NASCAR style race car? I think not.
If he was grooming his son for a racing career, I believe he'd start with the small racing style cars and work his son up from stage to stage to get to that NASCAR car.
Imagine the thrill of that Father when he sees his son (or daughter) be patience, work and learn how to be the best race car driver each stage of that destiny. (I wonder if this is how the late Dale Earnhardt felt about his son?)
Finally, remember that the One Who has given you the vision will provide the provision. Where God calls, He enables.
Some final thoughts:
"Our words are containers. They contain our destiny." - Jesse Duplantis
"No one's opinion is as important as your destiny." - Stephen Pierce
God calls us not to be mountain climbers, but mountain dissolvers!" - Jesse Duplantis
